"The tranquility that comes when you stop caring what they say, or think, or do. Only what you do." -Marcus Aurelius How calm was the sea with its graceful and serene wavelets. A light silent breeze guided my sailing boat. I maneuvered the vessel toward the landing Where I tethered the boat fast for tomorrows ride. Everywhere was enveloped in perfect silence, As I walked towards the large green plateau. I was in no hurry as I approached the willow tree, Under which I decided to rest from the noisy metropolis. Nature provided me with complete tranquility. Even birds had decided to rest in far off trees. I closed my eyes, allowing a happy hush That lulled me into a partial steady evening trance. My poor soul felt an almost divine rest. But alas, all good things come to an end. Clouds had risen and I felt the first drops Of mild drizzle. It was time to go to my own cottage. My sweet Annabel with her dark honey colored hair, Was already brewing a pot of sweet-smelling coffee. Her radio echoed a soft delicate song that enhanced my dreams. I sipped my coffee, kissed Annabel as she huddled near me on our sofa ……….and dreamt of tranquility.
