Touched By a Young Poet

I read three poems by a young poet named Bias Oswell He recently came to Poetry Soup, I could tell, He wrote of years being in the foster care system When, apparently, he felt life had dismissed him. He felt unwanted and lonely and sometimes forgotten The hand life dealt him early on was, I think, rotten. While I read his poems, I felt a tear coming to my eye I do not know this young man, but felt I should try To do something making him feel accepted, wanted here So, I wrote comments to him out of my heart sincere Then, wrote a poem hopefully to lift him, as well And, I hope everyone will read “Write on, Bias Oswell!” SECOND PLACE WINNER written July 14, 2021 entered "Touch My Heart" Poetry Contest sponsored by Regina McIntosh

A well written honest poem. Congrats on your win. More than that you've extended your hand to help a fellow human less fortunate than you and nourish his inner poet. Keep on keeping on. Dave

Thanks, Caren. For some reason his writing appeals to me. He seems sort of like a lost soul. I don't know.
