Torchbearers
The Moon and stars are celestial sharers
Illuminating the skies as faithful torchbearers
Luna trades places with the sun, who sleeps
until the morrow when o'er earth it sweeps
How patient they are to wait for their turn
Moonlight's soft glow and sun's fire to burn
Their discharged light required by the clime
Each fulfilling the need in their space and time
Back and forth in passing, they rise and recline
Each casting shadows, though they never align
In orbit, we watch them in the Heavens above
Incentive for poets to write of warmth and love.
