Too Special To Sell
The young couple had a wonderful summer romance.
They were smitten with each other and totally in love.
An older lady had taken their photo, unbeknownst to either.
It showed up sixteen years later in an exhibit.
The wife recognized he sunset; she had never forgotten it.
Or that summer or her marvelous husband who had recently passed.
She explained to the owner of the art gallery why the photo meant so much.
It had not been for sale because the photographer wanted to keep it.
A few weeks later there was a knock on the widow’s door.
It was the photographer, carrying the photograph.
This was too special to sell, she told the young woman.
God wanted me to give it to someone. Now I know who.
