Too Soon Friends

Bunny went a hoppin' down to the creek, yessir
Bunny went a hoppin' down to the creek,uh-huh
Bunny went a hoppin' down to the creek
Drank some water while a gator did peek, uh-huh

Well, the gator was lookin' through the reed, uh-huh
Yeah, the gator was lookin' through the reed, yessir
Well the gator was lookin' through the reed
And bunny said," Gator, there ain't no need."

Gator said,"Bud, you'll be my lunch you see", uh-huh
Gator said, "Bud, you'll be my lunch you see", yessir
The bunny said," Gator you can't eat me,
I'm gettin' married at half past three."

Gator said, "Rabbit, who would marry you?" uh-huh
Gator said, "Rabbit, who would marry you?" yessir
Bunny said, "Gator you're invited, too,
You can come and see her, yes, please do."

Gator arrived at half past noon, uh-huh,
Gator arrived at half past noon, uh-huh,
Gator arrived at half past noon,
Bride in a dress was a fat raccoon,
Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

Rabbit said, Gator, come and sit right here, uh-huh,
Rabbit said, Gator, come and sit right here, uh-huh,
Rabbit said, Gator, come and sit right here,
You can hear our vows from very near, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

Preacher said, Bunny, from my point of view, Uh-huh,
Preacher said, Bunny, from my point of view, Uh-huh,
There's a rattlesnake sittin' in the front row pew
Bidin' his time till you say I do, Uh-huh.

The bunny kissed the 'coon on her beauty spot, uh-huh,
The bunny kissed the 'coon on her beauty spot, uh-huh,
Then the Gator threw a lasso, tied the wedding knot,
Dragged them down the aisle to his cooking pot, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

Gator had bunny stew that night, uh-huh,
Gator had bunny stew that night, uh-huh,
Gator had bunny stew that night,
With raccoon flavor, taste just right, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

There is a moral you can plainly see, uh-huh
A moral, yessir, you can surely see, uh-huh
Don't make new friends where ere you be
That have you mentioned in a recipe
uh-huh,uh-huh,uh-huh
