My dear ones departed and dreams denied
Forge the torrent that drowns my heart
As pride stole my chance to say the words
That I meant for them from the start
To have held them fast within my arms
Then so cherished each precious clutch
And not regret saying far, FAR too late
That I loved them ... so terribly much.
