Too Kind for His Own God

The title is not a mistake, as you'll see...
God told Abraham, Go forth from your father’s house
Take no one else besides Sarah, your spouse
But Lot went with them, Abraham was too kind
He just couldn’t say no, and Sarah wouldn’t mind
Well, the Almighty was upset; To Himself He harumphed
Does Abraham think disobedience can triumph?
So, to Kindly Abe God no longer appeared or spoke -- *
‘til Lot’s shepherds stirred up trouble, and Abraham awoke
Told his nephew, We’ve got to separate right away
Lest the family quarrel, we must not delay
So, Lot’s shepherds went one way, Abraham’s the other
And God said, My Words to Kind Abe I can once more uncover

*After Lot joined Abraham on his journey, God stopped speaking
to Kindly Abe - until the latter parted ways with his nephew.
Note: The title is not a mistake: Abraham and Sarah were the
only monotheists in the world until Abe converted 318 men, and
Sarah converted many women, to monotheism in Haran later on.
