Tomorrow

Day after day
Mostly monotonous,
Sun always rises
Its rays hurt my eyes,
Cankers my skin,
Befuddles my mind.
Why should I worry?
Droughts belt some places.
Rain drowns big towns.
Disease spreads
Is there hope?
Politicians meet,
Glorious agendas,
Global agreements,
Wars announced.
Why worry?
Tomorrow the sun
Will rise again.
Maybe!

Today is precious and all we have. Hope soothes our sun-hurt eyes. Nicely done Victor. :)

Emotive with pain and worry, hope of tomorrow, yet the sun hurts the eyes.

Interesting. It seems like the future is uncertain but great to stay positive.

Hear ya, Victor. Sometimes it is difficult not to worry...but the sun will come out someplace tomorrow, a baby born, and with that, hope. A thoughtful write.

Dear Victor, your pessimism poetic view is well-expressed and well-deserved with the global state of affairs being as they are. I relate to your somber introspection. The finale is especially striking "Why worry?/ Tomorrow the sun/Will rise again./Maybe!" Indeed, the sun will rise again, but the dawn may come when humanity won't be here to see it. But let's keep, we must keep, hope alive in 'tomorrow'. A brilliant piece! Warmest wishes, my gifted poet friend.. ~Susan

the world seems so brittle and cruel these days.....yet there's hope in that sunshine that returns every day....proof to me that ultimately God is in control

The world can be harsh. It's best to invent one's own world. Maybe a movie, or coffee with friends. Or telling jokes about enemies. Maybe no. But maybe yes.

The world is a chaotic place to be, but still we have hope.

Let us hope that tomorrow will greet us with better prospects. Accept the inevitable is all that we can do. The occurrences of today shouldn't dampen our spirits.

The future rests with an intimidating figure. Tomorrow holds endless possibilities, Victor - The portrayal of global events in the news leaves much to be desired...

- You never know what tomorrow brings, Victor - What we see on the news in terms of worldview is not encouraging... the future is in the hands of someone who shouldn't have this power... scary - hugs
