To My Darling Son

"To My Darling Son" as I intently gaze at your photo in gold frame words lovingly breeze through each room and gently call your name I take blue paper from the old desk as my pen prepares to write and hold you close within my heart to keep you safe at night. dear youngest son your presence is so sadly missed for though you stand a military man this Mommy needs to be kissed our family is so proud you serve your Country for freedom's people because you are a man of God who guards you from His Steeple. though we are many miles apart we still set a dinner plate and pray before our blessed meal peace will soon outshine hate as you implement the values and the principles you love all hopes and dreams rely upon God who protects you from above. your brothers miss your funny tales, the pets their evening walk your essence is ever so close, this letter shares our talk the time will come when you arrive home with your smiling face to hang your Christmas stocking on the mantle fireplace. and in your arms a bundle of joy a bouncing baby girl the apple of her Daddy's eye, a perfect precious pearl looking forward to that day we want to say thanks now for heartfelt emotion and sacrifice you promised to avow. *For Gail Doyle's Hartfelt Letter to a Soldier Contest... *For My Darling Son with Love from Everyone...
