To Linger Still
Majestic sun to linger still
My wish for days ahead
As summer starts to lose its will
With autumn winds to stead
Scenes of azure blue and green
The tableau I desire
With homage to my season queen
I pray she won’t retire
While sand and shells adorn the sea
I’ll drift in gentle dream
With summer thoughts of fancy free
Forever to redeem
