Just a word of explanation: Hasad is the Arabic word for envy. I do not believe in a present hell or purgatory. This is not part of my belief system. I do not believe in eternal hell fire either.  I believe that a time will come when those who choose to cling to sin will be destroyed in a fire that will purify the earth. The RESULT of this will be eternal destruction for those who have chosen to separate themselves from the life giving God. Then God will recreate the earth, and this will be....as it were...the center of the universe for God will make his dwelling with man. This little questionku is a bit tongue in cheek. We usually wish ill to others because we are going through difficult times ourselves....in a sense, "Burn because I'm burning....Keep me company." It's human nature. Something we need to overcome.

she damned me to hell I had to stop and wonder~~ did she feel lonely

Great work here Eileen. I too do not believe in the eternal hellfire, and I find your thoughts intriguing. I do know that references of the lake of fire, from the bible probably confused many people into believing in this kind of doom, however, the word hell in the bible translates very often to "the ground" or the "the grave". God is merciful, and surely does not desire anyone to suffer eternally in flames, not even the Devil himself. This comeback of this questionku is clever! Always, Laura

hmmm, you've got great thoughts, most time when people act, i always think about what their mood may be, what must have made them do this or that, then before i finish thinking, the situation would've lost it's heat, a nice way to keep it all cool....great write Eileen

The cheeky wit of the author has been transposed onto the page and makes for a good read. Emile.

Whoever lives in hell, no matter with how many others, still feels lonely for none is there to share the pain! Profound Ku, dear Eileen, one has to stop and ponder! Loved it!

You tackle a big subject with a few words. That has great value. You have taken a page from our friend Demetrios's book.i believe the answer to the question is yes she does feel lonely.

I won't make a comment about the eternal hell-fire thing, but in regards to the poem it is an eye-opening thought. People often express hate for others because they don't feel loved themselves. It's difficult to look past this because all we see in the present moment is the outer-shell. With poetry it's nice because we get peeks on the inner-workings, beyond the veneer.

Maybe in a personal mail. I'd love to hear your thoughts. It's so hard to believe that a loving God would allow people to suffer....forever. Doesn't fit my picture of God. The eternal aspect is the eternal separation from God...the life giver. Anyway....What you end your comment with is so so true. Thanks, Timothy. I'm so happy you're back.

This was very interesting to see, both the info and the poem. Mormons kind of believe as you do, about the earth purified by fire and the good ones living with God on the cleansed earth, a thousand years . for me, hell fire is the remorse and sting of guilt before judgement day.

Not sure what Mormons believe, dear. Just a few ideas...I'm a Seventh-day Adventist...(branch of the protestant faith). Ben Carson is from my church group; however, you must know...we have conservatives and liberals in every denomination, so....don't think I hold all his views. ;) Yes...remorse and sting of guilt are part of the pain. However, I do believe in a purifying fire. Thanks for your thoughts. :) Hugs
