To Be Immortal
"Love is the emblem of eternity; it confounds all notion of time; effaces all memory of a beginning, all fear of an end." Majalbe
At our wedding we said "I do" in voices softly spoken
I miss you and will not give my heart to another man
Our vows will be everlasting; remaining unbroken
To love again is not part of the journey in my life span.
My sorrow falls in tides of tears into a bottomless abyss
Sand flows in an hourglass, but time stands still for me
I wonder if you know how much I yearn for your kiss
Endless is our love. You are the waves. I am the sea.
You are the eternal light shining in my wistful eyes
In the realm of boundless possibilities, you live in death
As immortals we would dwell where no one ever dies...
Life would be infinite, neither of us taking a last breath.
Together, we could wander far beyond the moonlight
and never again fear mortality could tear us apart.
My mind is cluttered with limitless dreams tonight.
I wish I could wake you with the beat of my own heart.
