To Be Heard A Collaboration, Sandra L Weiss and Daniel Turner
Although we have never met,
and I have never heard your voice.
I know one day I will regret,
not offering you a choice.
Do you speak in a soft tone,
or let out a booming bellow?
When talking on the phone,
are you intense or mellow?
I doubt you'd understand me
With my lazy southern drawl
But I am sure that you'd agree
I'm no neanderthal..
Twas raised to show respect
My manners out on full display
I'm quite laid back as you'd expect
At least, that's what most say.
I now know what I might hear,
if ever we would speak.
There's no reason to fear,
you have given me a peek.
Maybe someday we will share,
our voices, the words we utter.
Then decide, we don't care
after hearing the other mutter.
