I tried to mimic the meter of the well known poem TREES by Joyce Kilmer - 1886-1918

___________________________________________________________

(Inspired by Joyce Kilmer's Trees) I think that I should like to be the entity known as a tree. With nature’s laws I would conform, cascading in a willow’s form. I’d gladly green in early spring when all the new birds start to sing. My many slender limbs would sway with every breezy golden day. Sweet nectar from me bees could take, and shade my leafy limbs would make. Though tears might fall when heavens rain, I’d weep for joy and feel no pain!

It could not even grow a numbered placement for me in three different contests. It's useless like my walnut tree that has been standing in my back yard four years now giving me maybe five walnuts a year.

I love the rhythm, rhyme and imagery. It's a nice thought when the prediction is for snow.

"I think that I shall never see / A tree as lovely as a poem about a tree" to paraphrase Joyce Kilmer... this truly is lovely... willow weeping for joy, filled with the hope and promise of spring. BTW, I just learned that Joyce Kilmer was a man - died fighting in WWI. Yet he lives on in his poem and in those who pay tribute to his tribute to trees. And your tetrameter is perfectly iambic. Charming ~ John

Nice perspective. I love the last line! I'd never seen a weeping willow tree in this light before.
