To a Good Night
The glow of the early dawn
And the gleam of the sun’s day
Kissed and illuminated my mind’s eyes,
Now I await the reflection
Of the night’s moon
To illuminate my ebon guise,
As I lay me down to sleep
Knowing the blessings
Are mine to keep,
And if before I wake
It’s His choice my body to take:
May my soul have nothing to weep.
