Christmas only comes once a year But Jesus died – for every breath inhaled Exhaling only the brief, silent tear His love alive, shimmering like stars in the night Christmas is joy, peace and love It whispers life into the depths of a soul Delights the thoughts falling from above Where His amazing light erasing the shadows Ending darkness with a hope we’re in awe of Christmas arrives at a set time Inspires the heart, soul and mind With tender poetry and rhyme Stirs the spirt to believe, and receive The grace that feels so sweet, sublime Christmas is faith in the Creator He is the light, the way, the answer Offering freedom – He’s not a dictator With more love than I can hold Interpreting love’s meaning, the commentator Christmas comes to those who know Him The answer to every prayer, the joy Inside the soul who knows the synonym For this love that abides on the inside Is Jesus, Savior of the world, the hymn That survives the test of time, He endures Through all that is – filling souls to the brim With His love, peace and everlasting grace Christmas is the wonderous season When every heart knows the reason Believing – receiving – without grieving

This is so beautiful, Gina. I'm having such a difficult time writing about Christmas in free verse! Seems the season just naturally calls for rhyme. You've done it so well here.
