I’ve felt loneliness break my heart while searching for my counterpart, someone who’ll love me from the start. Time slipped away! In a myriad of places amidst a thousand strange faces, love has put me through my paces. Games people play! Hope is a coin squandered and spent trying to relieve my torment, disappointment, and discontent. And still, I pray! Dawn’s light pierces the heart of night; a fledgling day will soon take flight, and yet, love is nowhere in sight. Another day!

Great poem, Emile, expressing the loneliness that so many people (including me) feel. Time definitely "slips away" and before we know it our hair is gray.

"Hope's a coin..." great line, Emile. It seems to pass a lot slower when one is lonely. Nicely penned, my friend.
