Time Slipped Away

As my half-soul searched for its mate, I kept blindly following fate, fearing that it might be too late. Time slipped away! In a myriad of places amidst a thousand strange faces, lovers put me through my paces. Games people play! Hope's a coin I squandered and spent trying to relieve my torment, disappointment, and discontent. With feet of clay! A fledgling Day prepares for flight as Dawn pierces the heart of Night, and yet, love's still nowhere in sight. Lest, not today!

Great poem, Emile, expressing the loneliness that so many people (including me) feel. Time definitely "slips away" and before we know it our hair is gray.

"Hope's a coin..." great line, Emile. It seems to pass a lot slower when one is lonely. Nicely penned, my friend.
