On the first day of summer the sun warms my old bones as I watch the last rhododendron blossom give itself to the earth; time rolls over the woman and the flower.

And the longest day. I should know. I gave birth to my daughter on this day 49 years ago. Happiest day of the year, as well. Thanks for a lovely June poem.
