Time Out

TIME OUT Today’s rat race is full Of obligations, And definitely riddled with Frustrations, We all have to multifunction to Keep up the pace, So that we do not, Have to lose face. Guilty of not spending Enough time, With a multitude of things, But this guilt in turn brings, A restlessness that is difficult To explain, A feeling of not having Accomplished or, of any gain. All we do 24/7 is rush, rush and More rush, Perhaps what we need is an Absolute flush, Not of any serious issues, just of Cleansing our racing brain, Of situations you know, do not Rest on your shoulders for blame, I felt this compulsion to cleanse myself Of not ever doing enough, Perhaps I should place more Trust in the Deity above, For surely He above all others knows How hard each of us tries, To leave a legacy to our children, Before, each of us dies. I hope and almost challenge, You all to do the same, Slow down, enjoy life Learn to enjoy its game, Living is not all about strife!

Wow, its as if you wrote this poem just for me. So true that we rush about all the time and our minds are always active. Humans don't give themselves enough time to enjoy life. Well, you have given me something to think about...Thanks Jenny

Thanks for your comment Kim, I'm just as guilty as you feel about time, and probably most of the world would agree with us! Its like humanity has been put into fast forward and cant find their way back! xoxo, Jennifer

I was feeding my brain as I wrote it Mike! It helps so much when I put pen to paper and just let the words flow, until I feel my soul is satisfied. I sometimes feel it is the subconsciousness part of me that my pen writes with. Thank you for comment. Bet regards, Jennifer.

Superb piece Jennifer, really hitting the nail on the head with this strong persuasive piece. There's no contentment at all these days everybody wants quick answers and quick food, in fact, everything quick. Have blessed day, Gordon

Living is about thriving! Being and not doing! Though we cannot attain Being without doing! Absolutely, dear Jennifer, that guilt of not being good enough.. not doing enough.. "obligations", "losing face".. joining an infinite race.. giving no time to the mind to take its pace.. You have piercingly depicted our daze! We need unshakable Faith in God's Grace.. "Trust" in our very beliefs and stands.. trust shared with the souls we are related to.. unconditional Love.. Brilliant work! A FAV. Love.

Besma, my dear friend, Thank-you for your complimentary comment - it certainly means a lot to me! There is a saying that we should stop and smell the roses - but we carry on regardless! Yes, God is the answer and by his grace everything will still get done and without any panic attacks, we must just take things in our stride! Love Jennifer.

Hi Gershon, It is exactly how I felt when I wrote it, funny how when you put your thoughts on paper you feel a whole lot better, and the solution comes to light! Thank you for you lovely comment. Best wishes , Jennifer.

Well said Jennifer, since I retired my stress levels have plummeted, no more deadlines, meetings and targets etc. Nowadays, its d.i.y, cycling in the countryside, watching T.V and of course writing and reading poetry, all at MY pace, I'm the boss now. Tom.
