Time-Burned Sighs
Moon-touched magnolias reach to the end of the drive,
Beneath the heavy scent of midnight shade, I explore
a last chance to keep love alive. You touch my face with words,
and in my mind, I reach for a familiar hand to hold against my ache;
one last breath to take, before my bones begin to cry.
