Three Ships a Sailing
THREE SHIPS A SAILING
I saw three ships sailing upon the horizon, as dancing in the shimmering haze
Eyes strained as each momentary appearing, then disappearing from my gaze
Distance thoughts fell upon me, I silently wondered, to where each ship sailed
Each carrying its cargo of treasure, kept in their hold, until time to be unveiled
I envy the sailors on board, riding upon an ocean, the freedom they must feel
Weathering all types of storms, as turning them all into having nerves of steel
As each ship disappeared over the horizon I felt this lonely aching in my heart
Sailors, who carried their sadness upon board from before they had embarked
