Thoughtfully
I am pondering long ago,
the sweet days of my childhood years,
when life was going to last ever -
How I loved the park nearby,
where ducks and swans drifted peacefully on a pond,
and I would pick dandelions for mom's windowsill-
I can still smell the grass,
and see the fish under lily pads.
