Thought For Saint Valentine's Day

A Thought For Saint Valentine’s Day

     There is something I have to say to you,
     A thought I would like to convey.
     Just a simple point of view,
     As we come to St. Valentine’s Day.

     Please do not arrange to speak on Skype
     At some future convenient time,
     Or post your love in bits and bytes
     In hurriedly constructed rhyme.
     Not another Moonpig card as well
     And please don’t text by mobile phone,
     Or send gifts by post or DHL
     And hope I’m waiting here at home.
     Emoticons have no value.
     And please do not send your love by letter,
     On Valentine’s Day, all I really want is you.
