Those Eyes Like Moonlit Snow

I watched him in a dusky street walking all alone , As he reached closer to me the mystery has been gone . I knew those eyes that once shone bright , like colours of a latin marigold ... Those eyes became part of the night without a glint of glow . Those choco eyes have lost their luster ,they've turned vacant and cold , Those eyes of molten memories that gazed into my own . I watched him in a dusky street walking all alone , As he reached closer to me , the mystery has been gone . I knew those eyes that once shone bright ,Now glassy like the moonlit snow ... Those eyes became part of the night , so far away from home. So far away from open arms that kept waiting for him Far from a lonesome feeling residing deep within . I watched him in a dusky street walking all alone , As he reached closer to me , the mystery has been gone . I knew those eyes that once shone bright , like colours of a latin marigold... Those eyes became part of the night without a tint of glow . A poem inspired by the love song - 'The circle of life and The One ' by Sir. Elton John.

So skillfully written with excellent repetitions which only add to the drama. So vivid I could see him and his eyes so clearly. Well done Charmaine! Best wishes, Keith

Waxing eloquent Charmaine! I'm not familiar with the Elton John song, but for me it sorta reminds me of the poem I Am One Acquainted with the Night by Robert Frost (though with a bit more romanticism involved). I know it might be a silly observation ... but I love the way the word "marigold" sounds as you say it. Rolls right off the tongue just like your poem.

as she slowly came into my line of view....a powerful emotion constantly grew....maybe this was Love at first sight....not even snow could blind my sight....because at that exact moment, I finally understood....the true meaning of it's all good....Beautiful write Charmaine....;)

People change...emotions change as the wheel of fortune transfers our life while dealing unforgiving cards.....and the past will never return....except to haunt us! ~ Very lovely offering, Charm. ~ Regards // paul
