This Old House

They've said, life is hidden in these walls with images of spirits that walk these halls, bodies now ghosts that slipped away a lifetime or two ago but who of us truly understands orreally knows? I only know what I've heard and seen images and ghostly figures appear where I have been. From the house of the living and the dead, so easily forgotten slaves and faces picking in distant fields of cotton. How many still haunt the old mansions and plantations waiting on the fulfillment and promises of a changing nation when will the hopes and dreams at last have come of hope, freedom, change, respect, and the dream finally won? This could be it, the newest wiser generation understanding the dream and its realization taking hold the ghosts of time that can never be erased while in the mirror see the blended compassionate face. Children walk in yesterday, dreamers from a time long passed are awakened by this old house and the memories it casts drawn to change and revelations of hope for everyone and in understanding and equality, the dream is finally done.
