Notes About The Poem

This Is Wrong, But

Rude people who think only of themselves -
I would like to sit atop mantle shelves
Yes, I know that is wrong
but it's where they belong
when they act like those impish little elves

"If mantling the rude is wrong, I don't want to be right!"... :-) Funny but so, so honest and true!

lol Walter. A good adaptation of Percy Sledge's great. Or do you prefer Luther Ingram? Thanks so much.

This was funny and different, Lin. Those little elves are getting quite popular during Christmas time, and I thought it clever how you turned that around, making THEM the naughty ones.

Merci, Tim. No one is perfect so I'm sure elves(as if they exist) have their impish moments.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've learned to ignore the rude and ignorant. If you don't open a window for an insect to escape, it will eventually die.
