I was so thankful then;
I was so thankful when;
Oh, those thanksgiving, memories;
oOH, WEe;
The smells of sage, turkey, cornbread, string-beans, celery and ham;
In mama’s oven;
The aroma of cakes and sweet potato pies;
Those smells that lifted up my eyes;
I was so thankful then;
We ALWAYS had plenty to eat;
I was so thankful then;
Had lots of vegetables and meats;
I was so thankful then;
I had a mom and a dad;
I was so thankful that both mom and dad had, a job
Never were we improvised;
Always had a roof over our heads;
I was ever so thankful, yeah;
That I had an older brother;
Even tho! He was blind, I still loved him;
Dad and Mom always thankful for what they, have and had done;
Grand providers;
I’m so thankful of the memories of the family…
Always together always see;
Together are those memories of thanksgiving, wee…
Together Thanks to God, Dad and Mom;
For all you’ve done; this is my Thanksgiving Memory;
I was so thankful then;
this is the jest... of a summary;
I was so thankful when;
I'm grateful even if we only had beans and franks...
And then as well as now I give thanks...
