This Cup Isn'T Half-Full Anymore

Mom, I know you can hear me as we talk in silence. And mother, I also know that you have been hearing me for the past thirty years since you've left and flown away to heaven. I know it's been a short while since I called you and we spoke, but there's something I been wanting to tell you for the longest time. Remember when I was young and how sometimes I would cry. I remember how every time I cried, you would catch my tears in a cup and you would save them for me. You saved many of my tears growing up and each time that cup filled up a little more. I always wondered how come that cup was never full. Well, what I wanted to tell you mom, was that I still have that cup that you always held beneath my eyes. But I must bring myself to tell you now, that cup that I have saved all these years has been over flowing ever since you left. Love and miss you dearly, my beloved mother.
