Notes About The Poem

This

This posed a problem in ancient Loch,
As it’s not a canvas of Van Gogh.
When paint ran down my arm
While squashed and ground bugs harm,
I still labelled it ‘Woolly Epoch’.

CURATOR’S NOTE
Period: ‘Holocene epoch’. Medium: Bug pulp, cave soot, elbow grease. Description: In this seminal work, the artist explores the tension between modern chaos and primal innocence. The squashed insect motif suggests a commentary on the fragility of existence, while the arm-smudge technique is a bold rejection of bristle brushes.
The above is a pseudo note in line with the humour of the Limerick.

Art can be anything I guess, even primal can be raw. Great reading you -

I had the top one generated to offset the bottom meme that has been floating around social media of late. The Limerick and "Curator's note" are very much tongue in the cheek. ;)

Fascinating! I always learn something from your work... be it blogs or poetry. What I loved here is that you know how to pronounce the name of my favourite artist! Not everyone does! They would rhyme his name with doe. I know...u know... I'm missing the point, but great rhyme with Loch! Being an animal lover...I don't like the Holocene epoch... innocent though it may have been. ;)

I laughed at the absurdity of the meme and had my own one generated (top pic). Yes, hunting scenes are not my favourite "art" either. Thanks for the visit. :)
