Thinking In Black and White

A faded, vintage and washed out photograph feel
embraces my soul to create beautiful images,
I love to capture texture and detail and shapes
and the shadows and details are truly amazing.

It is endless the beautiful images that can be visualized
the only limit is imagination and inspiration,
I find black and white photography dramatic and vivid
never mind the cost of film developing and the time.

Step into an out-dated, antiquated age that is alive
delight in how the light falls and the intensity,
manipulate the image to compose a mood and aura divine
I have started thinking in black and white.

. . . and just turn off your color vision

I am a fan of black & white photography, because it's vintage look can take me to a simpler time. It has a calming effect that color photos just do not possess... I truly enjoyed your beautiful poem. This is excellent writing! Congrats on your well deserved win!

Brilliantly creative Paul - I have spent many days looking over black and white photos with my parents in the last few months - don't need to be able to see in colour to conjur up the memories:-) Congrats on your win:-) Hugs Jan xx

Somehow the visions of black and white offer us a deeper look into those things that move us. Is this your own adorable kitty, adorned in pearls? What a sweet photo this is !!...

Nicely done . . . I love photography and I use lightroom to edit my photo -- love to turn the color off! I did graduation pictures for my daughter and we had one done in black and white -- may favorite! Much love and black and white light! 7
