Thinking Anew
Old Charleston Charlie is sick of waiting
For all of the haters to stop hating
So is his friend Savannah Sue
She’s fed up with all of the poo
Birmingham Bob recalling Bull’s dogs
And how that history changed in the log
Atlanta Alice while cleaning her palace
Decided it was time to drink from a new chalice
Ollie from Raleigh while riding the trolly
Had this epiphany, his choices had brought folly
Suffering in the malaise of old slipping Jimmy
Breach of their trust, by young slick Willie
A failure of go, lasting legacy of the big O
Their dreams washing away in the sea of rhetoric
So little hope, yet so much changed
So much was lost, for so little gain
Washington crushing the folks on Main
Now is their time for thinking anew
Perhaps they may change your point of view
