If the rubik’s cube was round
And the earth was square
We’d all be living different lives
Sharing a different time
There would be another tune in the air
And our hearts would sing a new song
Would we be aware of the change
When the change made us swap
From being tied to our selfish desires
To being tied to altruistic dreams
Would we discover the hearts we know
Are flowing with emerald or cerulean blood
Instead of the crimson flow we’ve known
Brought our hearts the lifeforce
If the rubik’s cube was round
And time was going in reverse, backing up
We’d all be living in another year
Without troubles, pains or fears to heed
We’d have different ideas, new thoughts
Our dreams wouldn’t reach beyond the touch
Of our souls where they would still go
To discover the answers to prayers, to petitions
Appeals for joy, hope and love
That defies the odds and meets us with
Assurance that our lives are worthwhile
We’re living a life that God meant for us to live
When He created us and breathed into us
The air that would lift us up to believe in Him
If the rubik’s cube was round
And the goals we have were lost in the moment
If hearts were filled with feelings so absurd
And souls were melting with melancholic worry
We’d reach toward the faith we hold so dear
And discover the answer to our worst fears
Are found in giving from the heart, without dread
All the feelings that cause us to flourish, move ahead
The love and compassion, the strength and wisdom
The enthusiasm that comes from abiding in grace
And feeling so alive that the dance of life heals
All the fright and horror that come from knowing
Disillusionment and sorrow, the concerns that wreck
The tomorrows with all the sadness and grief
The mourning of hearts who have gone on to be
Filled with joy from knowing that, despite the worst
There is hope, there is love, there is more
Than our hearts could have dreamed of
If the rubik’s cube was round
And the spirit knew doubt as a friend instead of woe
There would be the chance to see a sparkle lighting
Up the eyes with emotion that comes from knowing
Penetrating truth, the word, the Son, the ONE
Who makes all the rubik’s cubes square
And all the world, round – while making love
The answer to every heartfelt prayer!
With God – the world is as it should be
And rubik’s cubes are square, a cube
Unlike the earth, round, a ball
If they trade places, we will all know
The meaning of foul play, disgrace, scandal
That comes when hope falls away
And love leaves you cold, without a plan
Rubik’s cubes live in a box
and even though it sometimes helps
in this particular moment
it’s best not to think outside the box
