Thing's Taken For Granted
Thing's Taken For Granted

When on bended knees I kneel to pray
I need not search for things to say.
For, God, You've been so good to me
you've given me Eyes with which to see.
You've given me a Tongue to use for talk
with Legs I'm blessed that I might walk.
With Ears I can hear the birds that sing
as they prepare their nest each spring.
I've been given Hands and things to do
I have good Teeth with which to chew.
Without my Thoughts where would I be?
you knew each one before it came to me.
So that from life's aromas I might tell
you gave me, Lord, this sense of Smell.
You provided clothes for me to wear
for Head protection You gave me hair.
For Health and sustenance I'll always ask
knowing for you God, this is no big task.
A home cool or warm when it need be so
cars to drive should I choose to go.
For a dear loving wife, whom I love so
what she means to me Lord, only You know.
For a spirit that whispers peace be still
that lets me know when outside your will.
I guess, Dear Lord, what I'm trying to say
is that I feel most fortunate in every way.
Its because I serve one who loves me so
I need but open my Mouth and it will flow.
