THERE’S A HOLE

A short note, my husband’s ice machine is
His baby, and to have it broken down just
Before Christmas dear everyone, was a
Catastrophe.

THERE’S A HOLE

My ice machine is broken dear Jenny
Dear Jenny, my ice machine is broken
Dear Jenny, so sad!

Well fix it dear Elias, dear Elias, then
Then Fix it dear Elias, dear Elias
Fix it!

With what shall I fix it dear Jenny
Dear Jenny, with what shall I fix it
Dear Jenny, with what?

With a garage full of tools dear Elias
Dear Elias with a garage full of
Tools dear Elias, fix it!

Gave most of my tools when we
Retired dear Jenny, gave most of
My tools, dear Jenny, so now?

You still have enough dear Elias, dear
Elias, I know you can fix it dear Elias
Fix it!

I will try dear Jenny, dear Jenny,
I will try dear Jenny, will give
It a try!

Hey Jenny i have fixed it, dear Jenny,
Dear Jenny, hey Jenny i’ve fixed it
Dear jenny, fixed it!

Proud of you dear Elias, dear Elias,
With just a few tools
Dear Elias, you fixed it!

How do I clean my tools dear Jenny,
Dear Jenny, how do I clean my tools
Dear Jenny, just how!

In a bucket dear Elias, dear Elias,
In a bucket, try a bucket, my darling
A bucket!

But there’s a hole in my bucket dear Jenny,
Dear Jenny, but there is a hole in my bucket
Dear Jenny, a hole!

‘There’s a hole in my bucket’ sung by Harry Belafonte in the mid 20th century.

Good Morning Jennifer. I read your note and I am sorry about the ice machine. However your creativity and skilled talent took over and worked. This is excellent free verse in my opinion and only free verse could tell this story. Your thoughts are clear as we read and I found any repetitive strong positive and appropriately utilized. Truly. I will return soon. Thank you as always for sharing your poetic pen with us. Have a wonderful morning. Peace and Blessings now and always. (smile)

Oh I do so remember that song "My Bucket's Got A Hole In it". In fact it was very popular in my mother's time. This brought a smile to my face. Reminds me of some conversations with my hubby except as he got older we usually called someone else to do the job right. A fun read. God Bless and Merry Christmas, JB

The main thing is. It's working. How long will it take him to get to me. People are holding up glasses, fuming at me.

Jenny really does have that 'child's innocence.' You've described her magic quality perfectly, Valsa. :) gw
