There Is a Tiny Photo
There is a tiny photo of me on the wall with a darling baby girl sitting next to me. She is my granddaughter, Molly. I have six granddaughters, so when they ask me, “Is that me, Grandma?” I say yes, never wanting to let any of them down. Curiously enough, none of them have ever gotten up close to really look at the photo. Even if they did, they might not realize who it is. She was five months old. I was grandma-sitting her for three months one summer. The best summer of my life until two years later, when I grandma-sat her brother for five months, the last best summer of my life.
