There In the Fast Fading Shadows of Looming Dusk

There In The Fast Fading Shadows Of Looming Dusk There in the fast fading shadows of looming dusk emptiness sighing as space in an empty husk broken only by the dark whispering of Fate and swirls of wind playing savage tunes of- "too late", Dare I, to enter through its harsh welcoming door attempting to deny that gaping hole life tore or remain here to feel coming of midnight blues assume courage, to fight in a better man's shoes! Woe the poorer choices in this life we must make to seize the fleeting moment or else bake a cake whilst waiting for saving grace that oft does not come hoping and finding, the gain is less than the sum, Shall I, step back and deny this dark, dooming hour beg heart and soul to again gift that awesome power or else just flip a coin, let Fate again decide renew life or else in emptiness again hide? Dare I, to enter through its harsh welcoming door. Attempting to deny that gaping hole life tore. Robert J. Lindley, 6-25-2021 Rhyme, ( From, In for a penny, in for a pound ) Note: Truly blessed are those that have never had to face such adversity in life. That which youth is almost always incapable of making the correct decision. Wherein greater wisdom was demanded and youth had not yet gained such. And sometimes never does...

I say renew Life .... and bake a delicious cake. Which is what I am doing today, Orange & Poppyseed with a thick lustrous lemon and philadelphia cream cheese icing sprinkled with rough shards of dessicated coconut. Best attended to with a steaming hot cup of Earl Grey. Eat it on your own, or share it with a friend - it lifts the spirits, not the weight and on tasting, anything is possible. The Sun shines, the sky is bright blue...Decisions we made in our youth and the choices we decided to take - were already mapped out for us.

I never was one for wallowing in the muck(at least- not for very long). Too busy chasing the pretty gals for that. Such energy, such passion and as well such heartache! Life's many lessons well learned. Great fodder for a poet to use.. And seeds planted for many a beautiful dream too.

Thank you my friend. I'll take two slices of that delicious cake, if you please! And that hot cup of coffee as well. Ahh, yes youth --what a truly spectacular time to be alive. So many discoveries to make- also so many mistakes too.. Looooooooooking back, the sky was far more often beautiful blue than it was stormy dark... God bless..

It is not fate, that which is something randomly created with no particular goal in mind - it is all predestined. We learn from the decisions and choices we make and move on to fight for our beautiful futures, which are worth fighting for - or we wallow in self-pity and sink to the bottom of the muck.

Thought provoking verse Robert, when we look back at our youth we realise decisions we made were often the wrong ones. Experience and wisdom comes with age. Tom

Thank you my friend. Youth having a -dim view-- of old age --is because youth basically stumbles forward in a blinded race into the unknown with a false sense of reality- thanks to a modern education system that is more propaganda than true educating apparatus, imho. This world is bad enough without strumbling through it blinded by institutional propaganda supplanting true learning and eye opening revelations higher learning is supposed to provide. God bless..
