Their Mother's Real Talent

Daddy left when they were little. He was a musician, on the road, had groupies. Mommy had not been one of them. She could not even clap in rhythm. Their three daughters inherited Daddy’s genes. They had his personality and musical talents. Their mother stood back and watched. Wondering if they had gotten any of her talents. What are your talents? Her sister asked. I can….. Her mind went blank. For the first time she realized If she had talents, she did not know what they were. Maybe she was musical. So, she tried piano lessons. Her fingers were too stubby. She tried art classes. Not for her. How can you not know your talents mother? Her daughters asked. Not realizing that her real talent is helping her children hone their talents.
