The Wizard of Odds

What are the odds The under The over The chance of portraying Poor Toto As Rover. Lions and tigers and bears Disguised As their frightening fears. Friendship discovered When nobody listens Somebody hears. And witches Like Glenda How could she offend ya Such courage Such heart a brain. And a Wizard Who knew Was just like me and you Afraid to admit He knew not what to do. I shall end this brief spiel With a click of the heel And to those who object Say… ‘C’MON FOLKS, GET REAL!” John G. Lawless ©2/18/2023

Absolutely brilliant writing on a theme I rate highly from my personal experience with the movies... timeless, classic just like this poem. Love it. God bless you, Love, Gina

John Lawless, for your bravado of giving some measure of credibility to my suggesting that we have a bit of fun in casting poets as Wizard of Oz characters... I stand and applaud you. I think you may be a top choice for the wizard, and although he was pretending to be wise and all powerful, your words here are very wise... at least to me. Thank you! I've faved this and would like to frame it. ;)

Jenna, perhaps we could reword an old statement to fit "he who knows and knows not that he knows is a Wizard unsure of his power"
