The Winter Night
Nights are freezing but loneliness colder
Shelter sought in the land of the living dead
Beauty has departed the eye of the beholder
To great opportunity he once quickly fled
All of his words now stained with his dread
Winter winds bite howling through the night
Joined by a taunting ghost of Christmas past
The future ever becoming a world of fright
The coldness in his heart how long can it last
How did this happen it all transpired so fast
Rain falls harder than stones cast in shame
The night rolls on time moving slow as ever
Where is it that he can transfer the final blame
Seeking love sometimes a very cold endeavor
Can the winter night end or will it last forever
