The Willow Tree

The Willow Tree. The winding backs, broad then narrow skirts the rivers edge, Blissful I peer through curtain slips, palatial the tearless sky, Wishing my dreams reflected yours, as life passes us idly by, The stillness of time to rest and muse, the willow trees obscure. Majestic swans in reverence bow, dipped in God's quiescent eyes, Skyward willow warblers flit, while song sparrows most, allure. Fleeting ducks, graceful swans, beauty no riches could ever buy . Undulating grass verges, the locals laze restless and endure, I repose in blissful silence, watching someone else's world go by. Thoughts stray, of moments past , when I was less mature , Weighted by an unopened door, where the past I dare not pry. The heart dispensed but not returned, I wait for time, to cure. I wish I was a bird or swan, Without thought to live or die, Or this wondrous majestic willow tree, to inwardly feel secure . Slowly I push to rise, eyes welled, arms stretched to say goodbye Nature my earthly saviour, my beacon of hope, my heart to soar .

Hello Daniel, what a wonderful reflection on the passage of time and the yearning for peace amidst life's complexities. I love your evocative imagery which captures the serene beauty of nature, contrasting with the turmoil of inner thoughts and emotions. The symbolism of the willow tree as a silent observer of life's ebb and flow adds depth to the narrative. Daniel your words are filled with a sense of longing and introspection, reminding us of the universal desire for peace and understanding. It's a deeply moving piece that invites readers to reflect on their own journey and find peace in the embrace of nature's timeless wisdom. - Blessings, Daniel

astounding in every aspect, Daniel. You captured the essence of one of my favorite trees, the weeping willow. They always remind me of graceful ballerina. I was also quite taken by the deeper level within your poem as in "I repose in blissful silence watching someone else's world go by. Thoughts stray of moments past, when I was less mature, weighted by an unopened door, where the past I dare not pry. The heart dispensed but not returned...as I read those words. I felt twinges of sadness.Lovely!
