The Whispers of Autumn
In the silence of an autumn day
The slight crunch of leaves are heard
Whispering things that I cannot say
Colorful statements in every word
A soft breeze touches the changing trees
As the leaves float slowly to the ground
Where I lean down on weary knees
Seeking dreams of color to be found
The air is crisp as apples to pick
Refreshing to smell or to taste
Autumn floats with memories to stick
In my mind where no time is to waste
Whispers of autumn will comfort me
Through days ahead to eternity
