The Way I See Things
You told me I couldn't so I repaired my wings
the blue sky is beautiful, but I prefer it when it rains
I don't know how to cry, So I laugh at the pain
I won't apologize for the way I see things
I'm just trying to keep my head above water
Having my heart broken, only made me love harder
Being laughed at, forced me to turn them into the joke
Telling me I'm hopeless, I knew I had to create my own hope
You made fun of my scars, but they're my favourite thing about myself
You kicking me while I was down, taught me to never rely on help
Thank you for leaving and making me realize I could survive alone
I never had anyone to call on, so now I never answer my phone
Some of my poems are based on feelings from a while back
So some of my sad poetry comes with a smile attached
I know I'm a broken man, but I don't want to he fixed
I'm not trying to be right for you, because I'm already someone's wish
You told me I couldn't so I repaired my wings
the blue sky is beautiful, but I prefer it when it rains
I don't know how to cry, So I laugh at the pain
I won't apologize for the way I see things
