The War Years of My Youth

As a young lad during the war years Exciting as a battle game in a far off land My only real contact was What I heard on the news broadcasts Which I was intrigued and thrilled by Not realizing that real people Were being killed in war liked situations No matter how it was decribed It was a disaster to the whole world With millions upon millions being killed But to me it was still a game of us against them To a young lad of between 4 to 10 It was the ultimate game of life
