As of January, 2016, this movie has grossed $67.8 million; production costs were only $3.5 million.

I found the film, by Alex and Stephen Kendrick, to be very inspiring and thought-provoking. It's the only movie that has made me laugh out loud and cry in the same minute!

What goes in a war room? Ammo? Fatigues? Guns? What emerges-- a soldier prepared to fight enemies? Miss Clara's war room, a closet, has a Bible. She reads, kneels, prays, and comes out a warrior fit to help others fight their wars, those battles with self and others that often cause them to scream, grieve, cry, hate, throw up their hands, or scratch their heads. Old Miss Clara encourages them to retreat to their own war rooms to make them fit for battles that are sure to come.
