The Velum of Clouds

For all the planning and learned preparation poetry remains part mystery a write only dimly solvable a poet wisely advised to proudly accept all credits, while adhering failures to sacrificial muses, the lambs should be accustomed by now to writers’ confiscations and slanders our best definition: poetry~ likened to love -- fond works pinned to the heart stapled to the velum of high flying clouds~ hopefully ascending for safe keeping and reunion

You have given a beautiful definition to poetry dear Joe. Sometimes it jumps off our expectations. Sometimes it fails our planning. It is mystical in its power. Poetry is something deep and has to be understood at a deeper level. It has to be pinned to heart and stapled to the velum of high flying clouds. I love the sanctity you have given to poetry. It is not a trivial art. Great thoughts, dear friend.

Brilliant write. I always love a poem about poetry. And this is no exception. This poem flows with really deeply moving lines and creative wordplay. Especially loved “ a poet wisely advised to proudly accept all credits,” how clever and well written, soulful!” pinned to the heart stapled to the velum of high flying clouds~“ this stood out for me really. Powerful how you’ve portrayed poetry as a mystery that comes from a very deep place. Only few can feel the real depth of a writers work. Pleasure reading this. Sending you light

your poem beautifully captures the mystery involved in writing--the unexplainable tug of words is ever present despite our planning and best efforts. I suppose we all learn to go with the creative flow, take the elusive leap of faith and write. Well done! have a plesant evening, Sara

Hey Joe, I like how your poem delves into the enigmatic nature of poetry, portraying it as a realm that eludes complete understanding despite all efforts of planning and preparation. The juxtaposition of "planning" and "mystery" at the outset underscores the inherent complexity of the poetic craft, suggesting that while poets may strive to unravel its secrets, poetry ultimately retains an element of elusive mystery..

Hi Si; thank you. Got rid of one of the "shoulds" a type-o of duplication -- my proof reader, Ila, is getting old eyes like mine, and they just don't focus as quickly as they once did. Our minds flying ahead of the text. Have a great day my friend.

Thank you, Vijay, for the support. Maybe a bit too dreamy, but every poem needs elements of flighty mysticism don't you agree? Anyway, we are who we are, for better or literary worst. Blessings my friend.
