The Valley of Loss
my life is like a sad VALLEY OF LOSS,
a HOLLOW canyon in a dark a b y s s-
like a tombstone covered in chartreuse moss,
for it’s my steep p r o m i n e n c e that I miss.
I used to live a life of cheerful bliss,
when I was grateful for my creation-
now this gorge brings a d a r k e n e d sensation,
my poor soul WEEPS with words that never rhyme,
stuck in this pit of obliteration;
seems like my h o u r g l a s s has run out of time.
my life is like a sad valley of GRIEF,
with one t o o m a n y glasses of merlot-
oh, I just can’t find a mount of relief,
finding it hard to let my heartbreak go.
I’m stuck in a BASIN of a vale’s woe-
the ravine has poured into my despair,
nothing left to do, no one good to care.
out my windowpane I still wail and MOURN,
searching through old memoirs when life was fair...
...now my heart's valley is DEPRESSED and TORN.
