Unsupervised Stop Sign Contest Sponsored by Craig Cornish 10/09/23

sadly  my poem is based on a true story

The lure of the inky depths of the dark web... too much temptation for innocents out for a good time Were they foolhardy or simply naïve sadly for them unsupervised there was no stop sign I guess they couldn’t resist the attraction of illicit drugs posted through their door by an unsuspecting mail man Grieving parents still mourn the loss of two beloved sons Their final resting place an ice cold mortuary slab

The repercussions are sadly being realized by the loved ones, and the loss goes on without end. Though 'tis a poignant entry, Jan, an understood complimentary, my friend. Aloha, William

the lads took mdma, first tablets didnt have much effect so they took more and never woke up, their only sons dead aged 17 and 19, it still breaks my heart to see the beakers in the cupboard they used when they came to play:-( hugs Jan xx

- Woow, Jan ...(a story I've heard/read before and I know it's true) - It's so easy to fall into this trap... curiosity and naivety ... - The last two lines are powerful ( and ice cold) - Best wishes in the contest :) - hugs

So sad, Jan. It's no surprise- drugs kill. Not only with over-doses, but carelessness and unawareness too. Heartfelt prayers to their parents. BOL in the contest. Hugs Charlie xx

Unfortunately, we have too many of the overdoses resulting in death. Great poem, very emotional. Blessings.

I know the over dose was accidental they didnt know the strength of the drugs and when they didnt seem to take any effect they took more, the dose being fatal:-( hugs Jan xx

Oh such a sad story! I hate the pain and suffering drug abuse and overdose cause. Hoping the family can somehow go one in spite of such a devastating loss. So sad.

This is a sad story my friend. One of the problems of THC gummies is that it takes a bit for them to work. Many people don't realize and think they are not working so the take more and more and don't realize what they've done until it is too late. Hugs my friend.

its a heartbreaking story Jerry, they took some of the drugs, didn't seem to be working so they took more .. why it is called ecstasy is beyond me. police were able to prosecute the seller who got a prison sentence but the poor parents have a life sentence and their son's 'killer' will be out and probably be back doing what he was before

a truthful, but sad commentary about the downside of the dark web for the naive. Well said, Jan. have a pleasant evening, Sara

A similar true story told throughout the world, much too often. A tale of woe, but well told, Jan.
