The True Purpose of the Sabbath - Mark 2: 27-28
Here is Jesus early in His earthly ministry
speaking with the authority of the sabbath
He addresses the Pharisees and the people
for in His place of deity, nothing was mammoth
Firstly the scripture says Jesus spoke to them
this was no ordinary man steeped in the law
for Jesus is the son of God eternally divine
the very word of God of whom was no flaw
Jesus spoke as only God can
the Sabbath was made for man
as God's gift presented only for good
knowing only good in God's plan
He also spoke clearly of man
who was for the Sabbath not made
but man so often rejects this
thinks knows better but he's in the shade
God was the originator of this truth
He alone made it at creation
for the Lord rested on His day
shows His holy godly persuasion
Whatever these verses in Mark inspire.
("And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.")
Mark 2:27-28
