the thundering quiet

 

the slowing of life_
eyes stare beyond this world
oh, the last gasp ~
then, the silence
the thundering quiet
a loved person now becomes "the body"
the soul has left
a stone statue reposes
I weep ...
my grief forever to be

After my death no body will ask- "When Valsa will be brought home from the hospital". Instead "when will the body be brought home from the hospital". Death is a reality that makes us sad. The vitality and spark is gone from the eyes. I believe that's why we all understand when they say eyes are the window to the soul.
