the thundering quiet

the slowing of life_
eyes stare beyond this world
oh, the last gasp ~
then, the silence
the thundering quiet
a loved person now becomes "the body"
the soul has left
a stone statue reposes
I weep ...
my grief forever to be

It pierced my heart. Can’t analyse, if Death is inevitable, why are we attached to so many emotional bonds ! Have Good days.

So sad for the ones who remain. Relating well to the "thundering quiet' myself. The lightning has struck, but the 'thunder' continues quietly as you say, forever. Nice, Constance, well-said.

Brief, powerful and emotive. When the soul leaves, we become just a 'body'. After my death no body will ask- "When Valsa will be brought home from the hospital". Instead "when will the body be brought home from the hospital". Death is a reality that makes us sad. Great example, dear Constance.

Very real and gut punched... frankly stated but emotional as well. Like the form! When the soul leaves the flesh body you can absolutely see it. The vitality and spark is gone from the eyes. I believe that's why we all understand when they say eyes are the window to the soul. Xoxo
